Road ID REminder

This is a Road ID reminder. In the event of an accident, if you can't speak for yourself, your Interactive Road ID will.

We all need this whether you are the victim of an accident or a person just riding along with someone who is a victim of an accident.

L & M collide while sprinting for townline

L & M were near the end of a ride (5 miles from home) along Springtown Rd near the grocery store/fire dept in Tillson. Playfully, they sprinted for a townline sign. Unfortunately, they bumped and both went down hard, landing on either side of the street. L received mostly body trauma and was pretty bruised up. M hit her head pretty hard destroying her helmet (back broke out) and was unconscious for about 5 min. M had a petty bad concussion and had to take it easy for a while.

People coming by the scene stopped; fortunately the first person was a nurse, then police, paramedics, and folks a St. Francis (head trauma center) took care of our friends. They have since rested and recovered, but were a little shocked at how fast it happened and how much damage occurred.

If L was not conscious or was just a person that was along for the ride, no information would have been available to responders, no-one would have gone to the hospital with M.

RoadID allows passers-by to notify love ones & provide instant medical history information to medical personal.

T.B. - an amazing 70 year old & masters champ biker was a victim of a hit-and-run

He RODE home after getting broadsided - A testament to his superb condition! The driver stopped, apologized as he was laying there, and then took off leaving others to help him.

When cars hit bikers at less than 25 MPH there is generally serious injury. Past 25 MPH it can often be fatal. RoadID allows passers-by to notify love ones & provide instant medical history information to medical personal.

Jim King crashes during crit (2010)

When I crashed 18 months ago, I hit my head breaking my helmet. It was during a race and the other riders stopped (this is unheard of). Even though my knee was the size of a melon and my shoulder was mangled, and I was nauseous, I insisted that I was OK! Remember I hit my head very hard twice as I tumbled and because I had a concussion, was not making a clear assesment of my condition.

Lori got me medical attention inspite of my initial protest and thank God she managed the situation. If she was not there, RoadID would have allowed passers-by to notify her and she would begin to manage the situation instantly, plus it woudl provide instant medical history information to people standing-by and emergency medical personal.

It would be tramatic being the victim of a bike crash, or being hit by a car while biking, or even the person riding along with the victem that had no answers as to who to notify, what to do with their bike (ambulances will not take them by law) and can't provide medical history or vital information to emergency responders, even something simple like their first or last name!
